MINDSET MAKEOVER MONDAY -7/15/24 

MENTAL CONDITIONING (Negative Self-talk) – habitual thought patterns that reinforce pessimism, self-doubt, and limiting beliefs that become deeply ingrained in our mind and heart. 

“Here’s an example of how mental conditioning works. When you continuously attempt to do something unsuccessfully over a period of time, you can get very discouraged. Even if your attempts were well intended or misguided, the impact is usually consistent frustration with negative mental conditioning (limiting beliefs). You convince yourself that you’ve tried to accomplish this feat but have failed. You’ll then assume it just can’t be done – at least not by you! You give up prematurely, and even when conditions and circumstances change, you are still bound by the negative mindset of your previous experience.”

THE ELEPHANT WHO COULDN’T  

Chyle, lemme tell you a story, about elephants. Imagine those giant majestic elephants, right?  They start out as cute but determined baby elephants. In the circus they tie a rope around their leg, attached to a stake driven deep into the ground. Now this little guy spends hours every day pulling and tugging trying to break free! Guess what happens, like humans – like me, they get frustrated and begin to lose hope. Eventually, we think it’s useless, so we just stop trying. We give up – mentally and physically! Our minds get conditioned to believe we can't break free.  

As they grow to their adult size—these powerful beasts are “massive” capable of uprooting trees and flipping cars, but they still believe a measly little rope tied to a stake can hold them back. 

Imagine being one of the largest, most powerful animals on the planet and not realizing your own strength because you've accepted the limitations of your conditioned mind. So, let’s not be like the elephant at the circus, folks. Let’s break free from our mental ropes and stake our claim to a life of Purpose and Fulfillment! It is crucial to challenge and overcome these limiting beliefs to unleash our full potential! You can still rewrite your story! You got this! Join me on this Mindset Makeover Journey! 

 

LIMITING BELIEF: I tried and tried but I have failed repeatedly. I can’t accomplish it! 

MINDSET: Defeat 

OUTCOME: Once the limitation is accepted as truth in our early years; even as our circumstances evolve, without challenging our old beliefs, those beliefs still hinder us as adults.  

CLOSE: We MUST CHALLENGE our emotions, choosing to align them with truth not our feelings or experiences.
